In all WOT’s calculations, we automatically include the value of 10 reviews which are worth a WOT Score of 50/100 each (2.5 stars). This is known as a Bayesian Average. This ensures that companies with very few reviews don’t end up with an extremely high or extremely low WOT rating.
Without a Bayesian Average in our WOT score calculations, a single positive review would put a company at a WOT Score of 100/100 (5 stars), and a single negative review would put the company at a WOT Score of 0/100 (1 star).
We always include the Bayesian Average when we calculate your WOT Score, but as we collect more reviews, the Bayesian Average becomes a smaller factor in the calculation of the overall WOT Score.
